[Asia Times Gyeonggi East Bureau=Reporter Kwon Daeyeop] The 46th Korea Choir Festival took place May 8–10 at the National Theater's Haeoreum Theater.

The Korea Federation of Choirs hosted the event, with Hoon Entertainment serving as organizer. Thirty-two ensembles—ranging from children's and senior choirs to women's and men's groups—represented regions across the country. About 700 singers participated, presenting a program of richly blended harmonies.

Also in attendance were Kang Geum-gu, chairman of the Korea Federation of Choirs; Koo Cheon, a conducting professor at Suwon University's Graduate School of Music; Professor Lee Seong-ja, the federation's former chair; and other leading conductors and musicians, who outlined hopes and a shared vision for the advancement of Korean choral music.

Chairman Kang said, \"I hope the emotional power of choral music that spans generations brings great comfort and hope to the public.\" He added, \"We will continue to provide diverse stages to support the development of Korea's choral culture.\"
