[Herald Muse=Reporter Park Seohyun] Rookie boy band FLARE U capped a successful debut showcase on Friday night.FLARE U released their first mini-album, YOUTH ERROR, on May 13 at 6 p.m. and then staged a debut fan showcase called Debut News at 8 p.m. at Seoul’s Blue Square Our WON Banking Hall, with the event streamed online as well.The group opened the program with the title track, “WAY 2 U,” delivering smooth vocals and performances that evoked the rush of youth.
That evening the band showcased a range of songs from the record, including the high-energy “Hyper,” the first fan song “MIRACLE,” and the carefree “WOO-HOO,” offering varied, lively stages that highlighted their versatility.In keeping with the Debut News theme, the members adopted the roles of a school broadcast club while MC Yoo Jae-pil took on a reporter persona and led several segments. The group introduced tracks in a breaking-news format using three keywords, answered fans’ pressing questions, and ran a “fact check” segment in which members proved the abilities they’d boasted about — mixing talk and games to display their chemistry.FLARE U also revealed their official fan-club name, U'RE, drawing an enthusiastic response. They explained that “U” represents “us,” including both FLARE U and their fans, while “RE” signifies existence and the present continuous — together symbolizing that the group and their supporters are always together, a sentiment that added an emotional note to the evening.
Near the end of the show, Kang Woo-jin said, “There is so much we want to show. Even if we make mistakes or encounter errors, as our album title suggests, we’ll turn them into stepping stones to climb higher.” Choi Rip-woo added, “I hope we can bring comfort when you go through errors.
