[JoyNews24 reporter Kim Yang-su] Park Shin-woo, director of the drama Unknown Seoul, won the directing award in the broadcast category at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci.
On the afternoon of the 8th, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci were held at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. Hosts Shin Dong-yup, Suzy, and Park Bo-gum reunited for their eighth consecutive year together.
That night, Park accepted the directing award and reflected on his journey. \"I began working in 2005, and I owe many people for getting me this far,\" he said. \"I'm grateful to the production company that made this project possible and to the writer who worked so hard on such a good script. I also want to thank Park Bo-young, Park Jin-young, the senior actors, and all the staff.\"
He added, \"We live in an era where those deemed useless are left behind. Even so, television dramas must exist for people who have nowhere else to turn. That, to me, is the purpose of drama. I will work harder to fulfill that purpose.\"
Meanwhile, to mark the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, the Baeksang Arts Awards introduced a musical category this year. With that addition, the ceremony now recognizes all major areas of popular culture — broadcast, film, theater, and musicals.
