[CBC News] Starbucks Korea, led by CEO Son Jung-hyun, will roll out a selection of gift items beginning April 28 ahead of May’s Month of Appreciation.
The lineup is timed for holiday demand around Children’s Day and Parents’ Day and includes desserts, mugs, stainless-steel tumblers and coffee gift sets.
The company will introduce a “Starbucks Cookie Selection” featuring matcha, chocolate and cheese cookies packaged in a dedicated tin. Two “Cookie Basket” gift sets—one with strawberry jam and the other with chocolate chips—come with message tags for gifting. A limited-edition “Dolce Finger Chocolate Bottle Set,” which packages chocolate fingers in a bottle, will be available only during the Month of Appreciation. Existing packaged items, such as two varieties of rice cake pies and two cookie tin sets, will receive “Thank You” hang tags.
The merchandise range also includes easy-to-carry items like the SS Signature Popo Tumbler (296 ml, about 10 fl oz) and the Dear U Gradation Glass Set (384 ml, 2 pieces; about 13 fl oz each). For coffee-gift options, stores and the online shop will offer the Black Siren Glass & VIA Iced Set and the VIA Coffee & Cookie Set.
On its online store, Starbucks will offer the Origami & Siren Mug Set as well as VIA Iced Coffee, VIA Decaf House Blend and a large pack of VIA Colombia.
For Children’s Day, Starbucks is releasing collaboration merchandise inspired by Toy Story’s character Ham: a “Piggy Bank” set that includes an event drink, sold from May 1 for 18,900 KRW (about $14.18). From April 28 through May 27, stores nationwide will run limited-time discounts on the “Buzz Cake” and the “Matcha Dungdung Bearie.”
Through the Starbucks app and online store, promotions running through May 17 include a 20,000 KRW (about $15.00) discount on purchases of 100,000 KRW (about $75.00) or more, a reusable bag giveaway for the Month of Appreciation, a complimentary heart plate with whole-cake purchases and gift-wrapping services.
A company spokesperson said, “We prepared a variety of lifestyle products for the Month of Appreciation. We will continue to expand products and benefits tailored to customers’ daily lives.”
