Newsis reported that he landed at the Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) in Gangseo District at about 12:45 p.m. on the 13th.
When reporters asked whether he’d met with European clients during the trip, he simply replied “Yes” and left. He drew attention for layering a white padded vest over his suit.
The vest is believed to be from luxury label Brunello Cucinelli. It’s priced at about 5.6 million KRW (approximately $4,200) and is reportedly sold out.
Interestingly, it’s the same style he wore in a Kyoto video posted last September by travel YouTuber “Pogmin,” when he ate alone at a ramen shop. The YouTuber has since removed the segment that showed him.
His affinity for vests isn’t new.
Earlier this year he was spotted wearing padded vests when departing for the UAE, when leaving for Washington in January, and again when departing from Orsay, France, on the 10th. The tailored-suit-with-a-puffer-vest combo hits that sweet spot between formality and mobility — the kind of polished-but-practical “business casual” that’s becoming his signature.
Online communities chimed in with reactions like “It seems chairmen prefer Brunello Cucinelli,” “Wearing it over a suit looks unusual but it works,” and “Isn’t Lee Jae-yong’s personal color the padded vest?”
