[Sports Seoul | Reporter Seo Ji-hyun] Actress Gi Eun-se issued a direct apology to a person who said they were harmed amid a dispute over disruptive construction.

On May 8, Gi posted screenshots of the direct messages she sent to a social media user identified only as A, who had publicly raised complaints about the ongoing work.

In the messages, Gi wrote, “I bought my first home with money I earned, and because I wanted to do many things, the renovation schedule ran a bit longer,” adding, “I apologized to and greeted the residents of the same building, but I failed to consider the houses nearby — that was my oversight.”

She said she was not at the site continuously and had been relying on progress reports, so she only learned this morning that neighbors had been inconvenienced.

Gi added, “I spoke with the interior team today and asked them to make sure residents aren’t bothered. About two more weeks of work remain, and large trucks will likely come two or three more times, including for the move. I’ll do my best to minimize any inconvenience.”

She also posted a photo showing herself cleaning the alley and wrote, “I clean the site every day.”

Earlier, the user A alleged on social media that Gi’s months-long remodeling of a detached house in the Pyeongchang-dong neighborhood of Seoul’s Jongno District produced recurring noise and large amounts of trash.

Gi’s agency, Sublime, said it has been in continuous contact with nearby residents since the complaints surfaced and is coordinating to prevent further inconvenience related to the move and the construction.

Some readers later interpreted a cryptic post on Gi’s social media — “I wish the world were warm” — as an indirect expression of her feelings about the episode. sjay0928@sportsseoul.com
