Multiplex CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall opened the Cine de Chef Tempur Cinema B earlier last month.
Launched in 2015 through a collaboration with Denmark’s premium mattress maker Tempur, Tempur Cinema was the world’s first theater built around reclining beds. It introduced a lie‑down alternative to the conventional sit‑down moviegoing experience.
Tempur Cinema B at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall has 24 seats and emphasizes a private, spacious layout designed to deliver a distinct viewing experience.
The auditorium features a custom Tempur Zero G Lifestyle Motion Bed for cinemas, along with the Pro Plus SmartCool Mattress (S) and a Comfort Pillow. Each seat measures 100 cm (about 39.4 in) wide and 200 cm (about 78.7 in) long. Two seats together are 50 cm (about 19.7 in) wider than previous Tempur Cinema configurations, creating a noticeably roomier environment.
Patrons can adjust the head, torso and leg positions on each Tempur motion bed to find their ideal viewing posture. Tempur’s mattress material, made from billions of cells, eases pressure and preserves comfort during long screenings, helping viewers stay immersed.
