(The CEN News / Reporter Hyunwoo Baek) The student government of Doowon Institute of Technology (President Kang Geon-yong) will host its annual sports event, the 2026 Cheonma Sports Festival, on May 12 at the Anseong campus athletic field. The event has become a spring tradition that brings students together across departments and class years.
The festival will run from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Participants will be split into Blue and White teams to compete in five events. The winning team will receive a total prize of ₩1,000,000 (approximately $750).
This year’s Cheonma Sports Festival will divide every department at the Anseong campus into Blue and White teams, offering students a chance to connect with peers they rarely meet and to compete alongside classmates from other majors and year levels. Teaming up across disciplines allows students to share different perspectives and broaden their outlooks.
More than a contest, the festival energizes campus life. Events such as tug-of-war, basketball, group jump rope, dodgeball and a mission relay give students a break from academic pressures and a chance to enjoy campus life — an especially helpful boost for new students adapting to university life.
A student government official said, "Because the Cheonma Sports Festival is planned and run by students, participation itself becomes part of building campus culture. We will continue to foster a lively atmosphere at the Anseong campus through a variety of student-led programs."
