Taean County is recruiting participants for \"Live in Taean for a Week,\" a program designed to promote long-stay tourism.
On March 13, Taean County announced it will recruit about 25 teams from March 16 through April 8. The program is open to adults aged 19 and older who live outside South Chungcheong Province.
The initiative aims to showcase Taean's diverse attractions and energize the local economy by encouraging longer stays.
Selected participants will stay in Taean for six nights and seven days between April 20 and May 31. Participants must complete designated mandatory and optional tourism tasks and share their experiences on online platforms, including social media.
Expenses are reimbursed after the trip. The county will cover lodging at 50,000 won per night (about $37.50), meals and transportation at 20,000 won per day (about $15.00), plus a 100,000 won experience fee per person (about $75.00) and 20,000 won travel insurance per person (about $15.00).
Accordingly, a solo participant can receive up to 560,000 won (about $420.00), and a two-person team up to 680,000 won (about $510.00). The county expects this support will ease participants' financial burden and allow them to explore local attractions at a relaxed pace.

Participants can travel anywhere within South Chungcheong Province. However, to qualify for reimbursement they must pay at least 50% of the total billed expenses within Taean County.
The county will encourage visits to major attractions—such as the Taean International Horticultural Therapy Expo and the Marine Healing Center—and ask participants to post personal reviews on social media to help spread the word.
\"We designed this long-stay tourism program so visitors can experience Taean's nature and culture at a relaxed pace,\" a county official said. \"We will work to promote Taean's tourism appeal.\"
