Park Shin-hye tied the knot with fellow actor Choi Tae-joon — who's a year younger — in January 2022. She became a mom in May when they welcomed their first son.

After earning widespread praise this year for the SBS drama The Judge from Hell, Park revealed she took a trip to the U.S. in late September with a friend, leaving her husband and son at home. She shared the details on last October’s SBS variety show Teummannamyeon.

She said pro golfer Yang Yong-eun invited her to Pebble Beach. Park admits she loves golf, but every time her game improves, filming pulls her back and she has to start over.

On the show, she and MC Yoo Jae-suk bonded over the romance of spontaneous travel. Still-single Yoo Yeon-seok chimed in cheerfully, "Can't a married couple just take a short trip together?"

Then who will take care of the child?

On the subject of shared childcare responsibilities, Park quipped, "If you bring the child, it's not really a trip." She paused and added, "just packing the bags..." — a line that drew a knowing laugh from Yoo Jae-suk.

Park confessed she’d cleared the two-week U.S. trip with her family and went alone with a close friend from elementary school. After two years devoted to parenting and work, she said she needed uninterrupted alone time and a proper rest.

Thanks to solid support from her husband Choi Tae-joon and her family, Park returned safely from the trip. Meanwhile, The Judge from Hell rose to prominence with viewers for its gripping twists and Park's striking acting transformation.

At the 2024 SBS Drama Awards on the 21st, Park won Best Couple alongside Kim Jae-young and received the Directors' Award for her role. She took the stage to thank colleagues and fans.

It's rare in life to meet someone who truly fits you. One of those people was my manager; the other is Choi Tae-joon.

Mentioning her husband publicly for the first time since their wedding, she used the moment to express her gratitude. "I'm grateful you always cheer me on and tell me I'm doing well — I tend to have lower self-esteem than I realized," she said, openly affectionate and sending the audience into a frenzy.
