[iNews24 Reporter Kim Sang-jin] To kick off the "2026 Year of Visiting Naju," Naju City (South Jeolla Province) carried out an on-site inspection on the 10th at Deulseom and Dongseom along the Yeongsan River, scouting prime photo spots ahead of the flower beds' bloom.

The city said on the 13th that the inspection was a proactive move to map out photo compositions and scenic uses before the blooms arrive.

City staff and Namdo Landscape Institute members walked the area together to pinpoint spots where the flower beds and Yeongsan River views naturally harmonize — ideal backdrops for photos.

They also reviewed framing, visitor flow, and pathways so people could linger and snap pictures naturally, and discussed ways to develop the sites into attractive tourism content.

On Dongseom, fields of yellow canola are expected to bloom along the river in April, cementing the area as a go-to spring photo spot.

In May, Deulseom will be carpeted with red, pink, and yellow poppies. Then in June, pink- and purple-tinted sticky-leaved wildflowers will bloom, giving visitors a fresh floral palette each month.

Using the inspection findings, the city will roll out photo spots along the Yeongsan River flower beds in phases, transforming the area into a tourism destination where visitors can make memories amid the blooms.

A city official said, "As we celebrate the 2026 Year of Visiting Naju, we're steadily preparing the tourism environment so more visitors can come and enjoy the area."
