[Sports Seoul | Reporter Ham Sang-beom] Seventeen pledged to keep writing their story together as a complete 13-member unit. At the celebratory finale of their world tour, the group delivered CARATs—their devoted fandom—the ultimate gift: a full-group contract renewal that sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) revealed the decision about their future during the SEVENTEEN WORLD TOUR 'NEW_' ENCORE concert on the afternoon of the 5th at Incheon Asiad Main Stadium in Seo-gu, Incheon.

The moment that stood out came from leader S.Coups. Near the end of the show he reflected, “Looking back on the past 11 years, I questioned whether I had been a good leader to the members,” and then announced, “After deep talks among the members, all 13 of us have decided to renew our contracts. From now on, we’ll row even harder together.”

The stadium erupted. Tens of thousands of fans answered the surprise announcement with thunderous cheers. Only nine members performed onstage that day—Woozi and Hoshi were absent due to military service—while Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who are also serving but were on leave, watched from the audience, adding extra weight to the moment.

The decision to renew as a full group underscored how Seventeen’s bond goes beyond a business relationship; it reads more like family. The group had previously made headlines for a full-group renewal, and despite the sensitive timing of several members’ military service, they again chose to commit to a future as a 13-member unit.

Joshua thanked CARATs directly, saying, “This renewal is also thanks to CARATs. We’ll be back as 13 soon, so please wait a little longer,” while youngest member Dino offered a measured response: “We will accept the love you’ve given us with responsibility.”

With the contract renewal serving as a steady anchor, Seventeen shows no sign of slowing down. Even before the encore’s afterglow fades, they’ll return to Incheon Asiad Main Stadium for their 10th fan meeting, SEVENTEEN in CARAT Land, on June 20 and 21, keeping the full-group momentum alive.

The group also teased a lineup of spin-off stages, including main-vocal unit Dokyeom × Seungkwan’s “Soya-gok” performance and a unit from S.Coups × Mingyu, signaling an expanded musical roadmap for Seventeen that the industry is watching closely. intellybeast@sportsseoul.com
