[MyDaily = Reporter Park Rosa] Musical star Ok Joo-hyun suffered a knee injury during a performance.
On the 12th, Ok posted a video to her Instagram saying that she fell hard immediately after a quick-change midway through Act 1 and couldn’t get up. She expressed deep gratitude to the colleagues who helped and supported her.
The clip shows her receiving on-site first aid for the injured knee. After applying ice and wrapping it with a compression bandage, Ok thanked the medic, saying, “Thank you, teacher.”
She later stood up and said that, thanks to the prompt treatment she received the day before, her knee had not swollen. She specifically thanked fellow actress and dance instructor Oh Hyun-jung and noted that smart first aid is crucial after an accident.
News of Ok’s injury prompted an outpouring of support online, with comments such as “Please don’t get hurt, sister,” “My heart is breaking,” and “I’m so upset.”
Ok Joo-hyun debuted in 1998 as a member of the group Fin.K.L and began working in musical theater in 2005. Her stage credits include Chicago, Rebecca, Wicked, Aida, Elisabeth and Anna Karenina.
