On the 9th, via a fan-communication platform, Mark noted that the day marked exactly 10 years since his debut. "I'm so thankful. I wanted to come by and say hello one more time," he wrote.
He said he's taking time to sort things out and prepare for the future. "I'm staying off social media entirely and only hearing news through people close to me," he added.
He also said he'd heard that Sijeuni (NCT's fandom nickname) had sent a support truck. "Their encouraging messages and positive hashtags moved me. I'm truly grateful." He apologized to fans: "I'm sorry to Sijeuni and everyone who was hurt because of me."
He closed by promising to work harder to repay the support and return with a renewed image: "I'll prepare more diligently and come back with something new."
Earlier, SM Entertainment announced on the 3rd that Mark's exclusive contract had been terminated and that he would be leaving the group. In a handwritten letter at the time, Mark wrote that he had "awakened every feeling inside" and, after long deliberation, wanted to dive in and fully commit to his next path. He said every member supported him without exception and thanked fans for making him the happiest person over the past 10 years.
