[SPOTV News — Reporter Kim Won-gyeom] The four-piece band Lucy channels childlike wonder on their new record.

Lucy (Shin Ye-chan, Choi Sang-yeop, Jo Won-sang and Shin Gwang-il) will release their second full-length album, Childish, at 6 p.m. on the 29th.

The lead single, "All-Ages," was written, composed and arranged by member Jo Won-sang. The track pairs Lucy’s signature energetic band sound with optimistic lyrics, capturing a refusal to fully grow up. As the band confronts an adult world unlike the one they knew as children, Jo frames the things we lose along the way with the image of horns.

A driving violin line evokes the sudden pressures of the world, while an upbeat shuffle keeps the song buoyant. The arrangement carries a simple wish: that our lives—yours, mine, ours—might, like a family-friendly cartoon, always play out under an "All-Ages" banner.

The music video follows the four members back to Lucy Island, the place that marked the band's beginnings. Tracing their path from the debut single "Flowering" through six years of releases, the video unfolds a comiclike narrative as Lucy cements its place in the Korean band scene.

Childish also features five new songs: "Sprout," which celebrates anyone who keeps dreaming as a radiant youth; "Chameleon," a genre-blending track that asks what was lost of the self; "Porch Light (feat. Nam Jae-hyun),” a pledge of steadfast support that rekindles overlooked treasures; and "So Many Details," a witty take on the overload of a complicated, adorable crush. The album also includes re-recorded tracks from the sixth mini-album Crash—now featuring Shin Gwang-il’s vocals—and selections from the seventh mini-album Line presented in Childish versions, rounding out a 15-track lineup.

Childish is Lucy’s first full-group release since Shin Gwang-il completed his military service. It’s their first new record in about 1 year and 8 months since the August 2024 release of the fifth mini-album From. The band used that time to expand their sonic range and concentrate their strengths into a broader musical vision.

Connecting to the earlier Childhood series, Childish explores, in Lucy’s own emotional register, how to hold onto one’s identity in a bleak world and reclaim the endlessly childish, pure innocence of youth. Jo Won-sang, who has overseen production on all of Lucy’s albums since their debut, returns as main producer. Shin Ye-chan, Choi Sang-yeop and Shin Gwang-il also contributed to songwriting, further solidifying the band's artistic identity.

Lucy will release Childish at 6 p.m. on the 29th. They will stage a two-night solo concert, Lucy 9th Concert "Island," at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, on May 16–17. The shows mark the band’s first KSPO Dome appearance and have generated strong excitement among fans.
