[Sports Today reporter Kim Tae-hyung] MBC will donate proceeds from global streaming of the "2025 Gayo Daejeon" to a reforestation project in Nepal.

MBC's global K-pop platform MUniverse said on the 10th that it launched the donation initiative in collaboration with international child-rights NGO Save the Children. The campaign links the event's global streaming service to a larger effort to turn K-pop fandom engagement into social impact.

The funds raised through the project will support the planting of 6,920 trees in Nepal. That acreage is roughly equivalent to six soccer fields. Once planting is complete, commemorative plaques bearing the names of the artists who participated in the global streaming donation project will be installed at the site.

A handover ceremony took place on the 5th, where Choi Haeng-ho, the CP of "2025 Gayo Daejeon," presented the reforestation donation to Save the Children. The effort is part of Save the Children's ongoing "My Forest Child" project in Nepal, which aims to involve children and local communities in environmental restoration and climate-awareness activities to protect children whose lives are threatened by frequent floods and landslides linked to climate change.

An MUniverse representative said, "Following the 2025 Fan Olympics, we are honored to work with global K-pop fans on meaningful social initiatives through '2025 Gayo Daejeon.' We plan to continue projects that leverage K-pop content and fan participation to amplify positive impact."
