To mark the 104th Children's Day this year, Siheung City's Ttaoki Children's Culture Center is staging a special music event.
The center announced on April 30 that it will present the Children's Day celebration \"Our Family Music-King\" on May 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the cultural center's outdoor grounds.
The event carries the slogan \"Making music in this moment — our family is super happy,\" and it is designed to help families communicate through music and to share the pleasures of the arts.
The program is laid out across four themed zones: Learning Zone, Stage, Playground, and Rest Area.
At the main attraction, the Ttaoki Learning Zone, hands-on booths will let visitors try instruments they might not encounter every day, including the gayageum (a traditional Korean zither), the handpan, and the ukulele. On the Ttaoki Stage, a community music program will invite families to build rhythms together and take part in ensemble performances, giving them a chance to create a piece of music as one family.
The Ttaoki Playground will offer an open space where children can run and play freely, while the Ttaoki Rest Area will provide families a comfortable place to relax during the event.
Jo Hyun-ja, director of Siheung City's Gender Equality and Family Bureau, said, \"I hope families experience the joy of art and warm communication as they make and share music together. I look forward to a Children's Day filled with smiles for every family.\"
