Volkswagen Korea said on April 8 it has begun customer deliveries of the Touareg Final Edition, a commemorative model marking the end of production for the brand’s mid-to-large Touareg SUV.
The Touareg launched globally in 2002 as Volkswagen’s first SUV. Over three generations and 24 years, it has sold more than 1.2 million units worldwide. The model has logged notable feats — it once towed a Boeing 747 and secured three consecutive overall wins at the Dakar Rally — achievements that cement its place in automotive history.
The Final Edition carries bespoke badging to honor that legacy. Laser-etched "FINAL EDITION" lettering appears on the exterior window frames, and the same marking is embossed on the leather gear lever inside the cabin.

Under the hood, the Final Edition uses Volkswagen’s EA897 evo3 3.0-liter V6 TDI, balancing strong performance with efficiency. Paired with permanent all‑wheel drive and an eight‑speed automatic transmission, it delivers 286 PS (about 282 hp) and 61.2 kg·m of torque (≈600.7 N·m / ≈443 lb·ft). Official fuel economy is 10.8 km/L (about 25.4 mpg US combined; city 9.6 km/L ≈22.6 mpg; highway 12.8 km/L ≈30.1 mpg).
Air suspension and all‑wheel steering are standard across all trims, providing a balance of on‑ and off‑road capability, ride comfort and driving stability. Volkswagen’s IQ.Drive advanced driver‑assistance suite is also standard equipment on every trim.
The Touareg Final Edition is offered in two trims: Prestige and R‑Line. With the 3.5% individual consumption tax applied, prices are Prestige 106,421,000원 and R‑Line 116,506,000원 (approximately $79,816 and $87,380 USD, respectively). Purchasing customers receive a complimentary 5‑year/150,000 km warranty extension program.
