Roughly 200 people attended, including members of the Ulleung County Integrated Defense Council, military and reserve commanders and personnel, leaders of veterans' organizations and other local dignitaries.
The program opened with the national ceremonial observance and included awards presented to 13 individuals recognized for their contributions to local defense and to the development of reserve force operations.
Choi Ha-gyu, head of the Safety and Construction Division, said, "The Reserve Forces are a core component of our local security. I hope this event bolsters reservists' pride and further strengthens integrated defense capabilities across civilian, government, military and police sectors."
