[TV Daily reporter Jinseok Kim] K-GDEX 2026, a defense industry exposition, will be held in Gyeryong, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea.

K-GDEX 2026 is scheduled for Sept. 18–19 at the Gyeryong Comprehensive Culture and Sports Park.

The expo is co-hosted by the city of Gyeryong and the Defense Industry Research Institute, with support from South Chungcheong Province, the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute, Konyang University and the Samyook Foundation, among others.

The show will run alongside the 2026 Gyeryong Military Culture Festival and Ground Forces Festival. Organizers say the event is designed to promote technology exchange and strengthen practical cooperation between the military and defense industry. 17 companies — including major defense and industry firms such as Hanwha Aerospace, LIG Nex1, KAI and Kia — are expected to participate.

Programming will include corporate displays of weapon systems and power-support platforms, technical briefings and procurement consultations, plus expert counseling in four specialist areas including financing, exports and digital transformation. Officials also plan roundtable discussions with the Republic of Korea Army Headquarters, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute. The expo will offer public, hands-on activities as well, such as drone and robot demonstrations and UAM test rides.

An event official said, \"K-GDEX 2026 will help Gyeryong establish itself as a hub for the defense MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) industry. We plan to present a practical cooperation model that enables both the military and industry to grow together.\" The official added that organizers have high expectations for the show's impact.
