Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it struck major petrochemical and energy facilities across the Middle East linked to U.S. military logistics, calling the strikes retaliation for recent Israeli and U.S. attacks on Iranian infrastructure.

In a statement on the 5th (local time), the IRGC said it hit Israel’s Haifa refinery; the Habshan gas facility and the Al Ruwais petrochemical plant in the United Arab Emirates; the Sitra petrochemical plant in Bahrain; and the Shuaiba petrochemical complex in Kuwait.

The IRGC said the Haifa refinery supplies jet fuel for Israeli fighter aircraft and that the Al Ruwais plant provides fuel used to support U.S. and Israeli military logistics.

It also alleged that U.S. firms such as ExxonMobil and Chevron operate the Habshan gas facility, that Sitra produces petroleum derivatives for the U.S. military, and that Shuaiba cooperates with U.S. forces.

The IRGC described the operation as \"direct retribution\" for recent strikes on Iran's civilian infrastructure, naming attacks on the Karaj B1 bridge and the Mahshahr petrochemical complex.

The statement warned that adversaries, humiliated by setbacks at sea and on land and by a string of aircraft and drones shot down, had resorted to the \"cowardly\" tactic of attacking civilian targets. \"Attacks on civilian facilities will be met with double retaliation,\" it said.
