Actor Jung Yong-ju stood out as a character brimming with fresh, determined energy.

Jung Yong-ju played Ahn Young-soo, a deputy investigator in Shinwha Life’s SIU (Special Investigation Unit for Insurance Fraud), in episodes 3 and 4 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Siren (written by Lee Young, directed by Kim Cheol-gyu), which aired on the 9th and 10th. He displayed strong chemistry with Cha Woo-seok (played by Wi Ha-joon) and showcased the character’s bright, guileless charm.

In episode 3, Ahn and Cha launched a full investigation into the death of Kim Yoon-ji (Lee Elijah). After viewing footage that appears to show Han Seol-ah (Park Min-young) arguing with Kim Yoon-ji, Ahn questions the clip’s origin. He also notes that Kim’s auto insurance remains active and methodically inspects vehicles around her family home.

Determined to shed his desk-bound image, Ahn earns his Certified Insurance Fraud Investigator (CIFI) credential, a clear sign of professional growth. When handed his first assignment, he boldly declares, "I will go out there myself," injecting the series with palpable drive.

Episode 4 highlights Ahn’s resourcefulness as a partner. He brings in a sign-language consultant to lip-read Han Seol-ah’s CCTV footage and passes the decisive lead to Cha, proving himself a dependable ally.

Jung balances gravitas and offbeat humor in a layered performance that deepens the character. His natural screen presence leaves an impression, and viewers are eager to see what unpredictable turns he’ll take next.
