[Sports Seoul | Reporter Lee Dong-yoon] A YouTube parody produced by Dalseong County in Daegu is drawing attention as the film The Man Who Lives with the King nears 15 million admissions.
Dalseong County said on the 24th that it posted a video titled The Man Living at Yukshin Temple on its official YouTube channel, Dalseong Cider, on the 19th. The 1-minute, 22-second clip features county employees parodying film characters such as Dan-jong, Eom Heung-do, Makdong Eomom and Lee Cheon-daek. The performances quickly caught viewers' attention.

The short was produced to promote Yukshin Temple, one of Dalseong County's main tourist sites. Yukshin Temple enshrines the memorial tablets of the six loyal retainers—Seong Sam-mun, Ha Wi-ji, Park Paeng-nyeon, Lee Gae, Yoo Seong-won and Yoo Eung-bu—who lost their lives in the movement to restore King Dan-jong during King Sejo's reign.
The Man Who Lives with the King tells the story of the young former king Dan-jong, who was deposed and exiled to Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, and the villagers of Gwangcheon-gol who welcomed him. According to the Korean Film Council's integrated box office network, the film drew 85,788 admissions the previous day, bringing its cumulative total to 14,842,896. ldy17@sportsseoul.com
