Actor Yoon Kyung-ho revealed that he auditioned three times for director Shin Won-ho.

On the afternoon of the 13th, the YouTube channel "Channel Sibo-ya" released an episode of Na Young-seok’s "Nabul Nabul" featuring Lee Dong-hwi and Yoon Kyung-ho, who co-star in the upcoming film Method Acting (directed by Lee Gi-hyeok), due in theaters on the 18th. In the segment, Yoon drew attention when he opened up about his repeated auditions with Shin Won-ho.

Yoon said he first met Shin when he auditioned for Reply 1988, and admitted he had no idea what the director was looking for. After failing that audition, Shin later invited him to try out for Prison Playbook; Yoon assumed the director didn’t remember him. After being turned down twice, he began comparing himself to the actors who were cast, and said the experience left him with a kind of trauma.

When Shin offered him a third audition for Hospital Playlist, Yoon said he went in stubbornly unprepared and bluntly told the director, “Don’t you remember me? You rejected me twice. I’m really worried about why you called me.” Shin responded candidly: “We wanted to keep getting to know Kyung-ho. He could do either a heroic or a villainous role—we couldn’t tell what was real—so we wanted to see him again.”

Yoon reflected, “Director Shin seems to have a knack for drawing out distinct qualities in actors. That moment made me examine myself, and I realized I was just a shell.” He said the memory brought him to tears. “I felt like I didn’t exist. I always wanted to hide behind roles and never confidently show who I am,” he admitted, describing his frank confession during the audition. Although he later had opportunities to appear, scheduling conflicts with other projects prevented him from joining. Yoon added, “Director Shin gave me a lot—lessons about acting that went beyond any single project.”
