Yeungnam University (President Choi Woe-chul) announced on the 10th that students from its Department of Clothing and Fashion won the Top Prize (Minister of Employment and Labor Award) in the youth projects category at the 2025 Future Tomorrow Work Experience Excellence Contest.

The competition, jointly organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is held annually to highlight and share outstanding work from young participants, participating companies, and program operators involved in the Future Tomorrow Work Experience Support Project.

The event brings together young people from across the country to present projects they designed to solve real workplace problems and compete for recognition.

The Yeungnam team—students Chae Hye-rin, Lee Ji-hae, Ryu Su-min, and Park Ji-won—collaborated with participating company T.A.K. Textile Co., Ltd. on a project titled "Product Analysis and Development Proposal for a Korean-Style Wildland Firefighting Suit as a Natural Disaster Countermeasure," which earned them the Top Prize.

Team leader Chae Hye-rin said that although wildland firefighting suits are a highly specialized and complex area, the team gained invaluable experience by diving into research, hands-on analysis, and design improvements together. She added that the project made her realize fashion can be more than aesthetics—it can be life-saving technology. She expressed gratitude to the department faculty and all involved for the opportunity.
