Nexen Tire unveiled LE COURT ADVANCED, a high-performance tennis shoe developed in collaboration with global sports brand Le Coq Sportif, on the 26th.
LE COURT ADVANCED leverages Nexen Group’s electric‑vehicle tire technology to enhance the shoe’s outsole—the bottom layer that meets the court. Nexen Tire and Nexen jointly developed a high-performance outsole compound, a rubber composite made from multiple tire raw materials, using functional materials. Le Coq Sportif handled the outsole’s design and structural engineering.
Tennis footwear demands strong abrasion resistance and reliable grip because players make rapid direction changes and face constant friction on the court. Those needs echo the performance requirements for electric‑vehicle tires, which must endure heavy loads and high torque. By applying its tire expertise to the shoe outsole, Nexen Group elevated the tennis shoe’s performance, and the company has even secured a patent for the specialized compound used in the outsole.
With a history spanning more than 80 years, Nexen Tire has advanced core tire technologies—durability, grip, and noise reduction—through dedicated R&D. The company has applied AI to compound development to achieve tire performance tailored to electric vehicles, which require exceptional grip and long‑lasting durability. Tires developed using Nexen Tire’s latest technologies aim to deliver an optimal driving experience.
The LE COURT ADVANCED, realized with Nexen Tire’s technology, is available at Le Coq Sportif stores nationwide and on the brand’s official online mall, as well as on major online platforms such as Musinsa and 29CM. To celebrate the launch, Nexen Tire is holding a giveaway on its official Instagram, where winners will be selected by lottery and granted the product.
A Nexen Tire spokesperson said, “We designed this collaboration with Le Coq Sportif so consumers can experience Nexen Tire’s technology in everyday life,” adding, “We plan to continue expanding partnerships with various brands to showcase Nexen Tire’s innovative technologies in a friendly, approachable way.”
