Translation result현대자동차가 [Herald Economy=Reporter Seo Jae-geun] Hyundai Motor said on May 1 that it will introduce a family tier called "Family Membership" to its points-based loyalty program, Blue Members, so more customers can enjoy its perks.

Blue Members lets customers treat accumulated points like cash across partner services — from vehicle purchases and maintenance to fuel, shopping, cafés, restaurants and movie theaters. Until now, the program was limited to individual accounts, meaning only the member could earn and spend their points.

Hyundai is the first automaker in South Korea to expand the program to family units. The new setup lets family members earn points together, share them in real time and enjoy membership benefits as a group.

To join, a family representative creates a virtual family group called "Family" on Hyundai.com and accepts sign-up requests from relatives. Up to eight people can join, including the representative — spouses, parents, children and siblings may participate regardless of whether they own a vehicle.

"With the Blue Members Family Membership, we're offering a new experience that lets entire families enjoy benefits together," a Hyundai official said. "By lowering the entry barrier and expanding perks, we expect more customers to take part."

Hyundai will run a launch promotion through July 31. During the campaign, any family with at least two members, including the representative, who join the Family Membership will be entered to win up to 1,000,000 Blue Members points in a draw. Families that share points among members will also be entered into prize drawings for items such as Jeju Haevichi Hotel stay vouchers, Anto Resort stay vouchers and theme-park admission tickets.
