[The Public=Son Se-hee, Reporter] Kwak Hyun-joo Collection (KWAKHYUNJOO COLLECTION) announced on the 8th that its 2026 S/S show at Seoul Fashion Week closed to strong acclaim.
Titled "The Future World with Waves," the 2026 S/S show imagined waves breaking along a pristine shore and the visceral sensations they evoke. Inspired by the curve of a wave and the deep, resonant pulses it sets off, the designer reinterpreted nature’s enduring rhythms—wind, water, air, sky, cosmos, trees, sea, stone, and tree rings—through a futuristic, AI-tinged lens.
The collection mined modern ripples rooted in the past, translating nature’s heirloom beauty and AI-generated imagery into bold prints, delicate frills, and flared details. Fabrics ranged from denim and chiffon to recycled polyester (from plastic) and upcycled denim, underscoring sustainability while delivering a mysterious, streetwise, trend-forward vibe.
The show was staged in DDP Art Hall 1 and attracted a host of celebrities, including Kwon So-hyun, Yoo Ji-ae, Jung Ye-in, Gini, Lee Dong-yeol, Artemis Hee-jin, Son Dong-pyo, Lightsum’s Na-young, Drippin’s Lee Hyup, Lucy’s Shin Ye-chan, Jo Won-sang, Choi Sang-yeop, Billlie’s Moon Sua, Haram, Siyun, iChillin’s Yeju, Jooni, Iji, EVEN’s Lee Jeong-hyun and Moon Jung-hyun, Lim Sa-rang, Heo Seong-beom, and Lee Soo-hyun.

Kwak Hyun-joo Collection enriched the runway with a curated lineup of brand collaborations. Rockfish Weatherwear, a classic British shoe brand inspired by Cornwall’s countryside lifestyle, and Nature Spa, a premium eco-conscious spa offering restorative experiences, were on board. Wingsfoot Co., Ltd., a global multi-shoe distributor introducing numerous international labels to Korea, served as an official partner.
Bag brand Otherwise—known for metal accents and digitally printed design—joined the show, alongside global cosmetics leader Laura Mercier, famed for its French sensibility and modern New York aesthetic and recognized as a pioneer in base makeup. Lehosa, which fuses tradition and tech through advanced jewelry innovations, collaborated on the presentation, while Epson Korea supplied precision printing and display solutions. Swiss non-alcoholic sparkling brand Rimus added a note of pure, contemporary elegance, and Vine Herb—blending natural botanicals with functional-medicine expertise to promote sustainable living—also participated, helping elevate the production’s finish.
