2025 Daejeon Fashion Collection: Discover 160 Unique Designs from Local Creators!

The Daejeon Design Promotion Agency recently staged the '2025 Daejeon Fashion Collection' at Hanbat Arboretum's circular plaza, unveiling about 160 collaborative pieces created by local designers and university students.

Billed as "Daejeon Fashion, the Start of Imagination," the event paired established and emerging local talent. Roughly 900 people attended, including Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo, City Council Chair Cho Won-hwi, industry insiders, and community members.

The runway showcased three of Daejeon's leading mid-career designers—Jung Hoon-jong of Jung Hoon-jong Fashion Story, Kim Yu-mi of Uriot Yun, and Kim Byung-hwan, chair of Jungchon Fashion Platform—along with about 80 participants in total, including up-and-coming designers from Daejeon University·Mokwon University·Paichai University·Chungnam National University·Hannam University.

A highlight of the night was the roughly 160 pieces co-created and produced by some 80 local designers and students, a clear example of strengthening the ties between industry and fashion education.

Organizers say the collection aimed to boost the competitiveness of the local fashion scene and create real opportunities for young designers and hometown brands to grow together.

To discover and support new talent, the agency plans to award 10 teams from the participants—five grand prize winners and five excellence award winners.

Lee Chang-gi, director of the Daejeon Design Promotion Agency, said, "We will keep working to revitalize the local fashion industry and roll out sustained projects to strengthen regional competitiveness. I hope this collection offered Daejeon residents a moment to imagine the future of fashion together."

Since 2012, the Daejeon Fashion Collection has been held annually to uncover local industry talent, support emerging designers, and broaden the reach of fashion culture.
