On the 23rd, Jeon posted on Instagram, writing, "I want to express my deep gratitude to everyone who has followed MongleToon these past few months."

MongleToon is an AI-generated webtoon he began serializing on Instagram late last year, drawing on autobiographical elements of his life.

The first installment covers his childhood, his studies abroad in the U.S. and elsewhere, and his return to Korea in 2023 up to the point when police detained him.

Jeon said that when he first cautiously shared the story, he never expected so many people to relate to it or show such interest. "I'm amazed and a little stunned," he wrote.

He added, "Seeing the view counts makes it feel unreal and reminds me that I could never have achieved this on my own."

Screenshots he posted show his Instagram views reached 67.8 million between last November and last month.

Jeon Woo-won is the son of Jeon Jae-yong, Chun Doo-hwan's second son. In 2023, he used YouTube and Instagram to allege various misconduct by members of the Chun family.

That September, he admitted to possessing drugs and was given a 2½-year prison sentence, suspended, with four years' probation.
