NEXG marked its debut on KBS’s "Immortal Songs."
On May 9, KBS2’s "Immortal Songs" episode produced by Joo Young-hoon introduced JYP’s rookie group, NEXG.
Host Lee Chan-won highlighted the group’s growing international momentum. After a Japan tour in May, NEXG is slated to appear at Rock in Rio in Brazil this September.
He also praised the members’ fluency in Korean, notable given the group’s largely Japanese lineup. Asked when she felt fully settled in Korea, Yuu said, "I love the combination of samgyeopsal (Korean pork belly), ramen and pa-kimchi (scallion kimchi)." She added that during the shoot for their new music video she craved ojingeo-jeot — salted, fermented squid — and even brought some to the set.
Before their main stage, NEXG performed veteran group 2PM’s "Heartbeat." Their acrobatic synchronization and razor‑sharp formations stunned the cast and stood up to the original.
Yuu, who trained in breaking for nine years, followed with a standout solo. Her high‑difficulty moves drew an even bigger reaction, and dancer Aiki called the performance "world-class."
