Dual-mattress structure strengthens mattress support
Birex new model adds lighting, storage and charging
[Herald Economy = Reporter Hong Seok-hee] Coway on Thursday unveiled a premium bed frame designed to give bedrooms a hotel-suite look and feel. With consumer demand for higher-quality sleep and rest rising, the company is positioning the bedroom as a lifestyle space rather than just a place to sleep.
Coway said the new product is called the Birex Suite Hotel Frame.
The frame combines a headboard with customizable wall panels to recreate the atmosphere of a hotel suite. It is available in four sizes—Super Single, Queen, King and Large King—and in two finishes: Neutral Beige and Ash Brown.
Its headline feature is the space-customizable wall panel system. Options range from a basic model without a panel to single, dual or triple panels so buyers can adapt the layout to their room and personal style. The panels come in two types—multi panels and wood panels—allowing a variety of configurations.
The multi panel is a fabric-covered shelving unit for frequently used items or decorative objects and includes mood lighting. The wood panel is a walnut-toned drawer unit designed for bedside storage. Coway fitted low-noise damping rails to ensure smooth drawer operation and added indirect lighting beneath the drawers.
Panel lighting is controlled by a touch switch with three brightness levels and a timer. Shelves and the space under the drawers include electrical outlets and charging ports for convenient bedside use of smartphones and other devices.
Coway also reinforced mattress support. The new frame features a dual-mattress design with a box-spring foundation that supports an upper mattress. The foundation helps absorb shocks and distribute loads more effectively than a single mattress alone.
On the design front, the headboard is cushioned with a vertical pattern to add visual depth. The lower section of the foundation is finished with wood molding that replicates wood grain and color. The base sits flush to the floor to limit dust intrusion.
The company said it improved safety and ease of maintenance by using E0-grade materials with low emissions and functional fabrics that resist water and stains. Corners are softly rounded, and non-slip fabric is applied to make the frame suitable for homes with children.
A Coway spokesperson said, “We designed the Birex Suite Hotel Frame to elevate the bedroom from a simple resting spot to a premium lifestyle space. We will continue to introduce differentiated sleep and healing-care products that reflect our customers’ sleep environments and lifestyles.”
