[Asia Times Gyeonggi Bureau=Reporter Lim Seong-min] With May here, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization is spotlighting outdoor wedding venues for couples dreaming of a ceremony set in nature.

The agency says May—with its warm sun and fresh green foliage—is prime time for outdoor nuptials, and it recommends a variety of wedding spaces across Gyeonggi Province. Ceremonies held outdoors in natural settings are a rising trend, delivering both atmosphere and emotional impact.

Paju First Garden is a sprawling cultural complex with 23 themed gardens where European-style landscaping meets natural scenery. Centered on a lawn-lined aisle, the venue can accommodate everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale ceremonies, and its in-house catering is a notable advantage.

Hwaseong Lavidol Hotel & Resort sits on expansive grounds and offers upscale facilities for both garden weddings and large convention-style celebrations. It can host more than 1,000 guests, provides ample parking, and creates a private setting for receptions.

Yangpyeong Adela Hanok blends the charm of traditional hanok architecture with natural scenery, offering customizable ceremonies from traditional Korean weddings to house-style celebrations. The hanok’s atmospheric details paired with grassy areas create a sentimental, intimate vibe.

Namyangju Praum Wedding occupies a riverside spot overlooking the Han River and operates on an exclusive-booking basis. A glass conservatory helps the venue adapt to changing weather, and it can host private weddings for up to 400 guests.

Seongnam Ayeondang, set in a forest, offers a fusion hanok wedding space that marries traditional and modern sensibilities. Thoughtful planning—covering floral design and guest flow—lets couples create a ceremony that truly reflects their personality.

A Gyeonggi Tourism Organization official said outdoor weddings in nature make the start of a couple’s life together even more memorable, and that pairing weddings with local tourism resources offers an appealing option for couples who want a wedding-plus-getaway experience.
