When you hear “Jamsil,” the first thing that probably comes to mind is Lotte World Adventure. A lot of visitors assume “things to do near Jamsil Station = theme park” and move on to the next neighborhood.
But look a little closer around Jamsil Station and you’ll find a rare mix in Seoul: a theme park, an observation deck, a lakeside park, and major sports venues all packed into one area. Step out of the transfer gate for Lines 2 and 8, and you’ll be greeted by a string of spots that can easily fill an entire day.
Today I’ll break the area around Jamsil Station into four easy zones so you can plan your day. Whether you’re all about the rides, want a leisurely lakeside stroll, or hope to catch a baseball game or concert, this guide has you covered.
Lotte World Adventure & Shopping Mall

You can’t talk about things to do near Jamsil Station without mentioning Lotte World. It links directly to Exit 4 of Jamsil Station and pairs an indoor theme park with outdoor Magic Island, so it’s a great pick no matter the weather.
The indoor Adventure zone stacks roller coasters, attractions, and parades across multiple floors, while Magic Island outside is where you’ll find thrill rides like Atlantis and the Gyro Swing. The complex is also attached to a shopping mall, department store, and hotel, so even if you skip most rides, you can easily spend half a day browsing shops, grabbing coffee, and dining.
Because the indoor area stays at a comfortable temperature year-round, families with young kids often make Lotte World their top choice when looking for kid-friendly spots near Jamsil Station.
Lotte World Tower & Seoul Sky

Walk a short distance through the Jamsil underground passage and the 123-story Lotte World Tower will suddenly dominate the skyline. At 555 meters (about 1,821 feet), it’s currently Korea’s tallest building, and its upper floors house Seoul Sky, a 360-degree observation deck.
In a glass elevator you’ll rise in seconds and be rewarded with sweeping views of the Han River, Namsan, and both Gangnam and northern Seoul skylines. Daytime views reach out to distant mountain ridgelines, while at night the glass-floor section and sparkling city lights make for a dramatic date-night backdrop.
Below the observation deck, multiple floors of shops, a cinema, kids’ spaces, and dining zones mean you can happily spend a rainy day indoors at Lotte World Tower and still have a full, satisfying itinerary.
Seokchon Lake Walk & Cherry Blossom Season

With early spring in the air, take about a five-minute walk from Jamsil Station and loop the Seokchon Lake promenade. The lake splits into east and west halves along Songpa-daero, forming a figure-eight shape, and well-kept paths, benches, and small sculptures line the shore.
In early April the Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival lights up the shoreline with blooms and evening illuminations. On the lake’s west side, the Magic Island castle and rides make picture-perfect backdrops, while on the east side the Lotte World Tower stretches over the water—one snapshot can make you question whether you’re still in Seoul.
The park is open 24 hours with no admission fee, so it’s perfect for daytime walks, evening skyline spots, or a low-cost break from a busy itinerary. If you’re minding your budget or your energy, this is an ideal stop near Jamsil Station.
Jamsil Sports Complex & Baseball Stadium Line

If the theme park and lake don’t quite satisfy, extend your route one subway stop to the Jamsil Sports Complex. Built for the 1988 Seoul Olympics, the area includes a stadium complex with the Olympic main stadium, indoor arenas, a swimming pool, and Jamsil Baseball Stadium.
During the pro baseball season the ballpark buzzes with fans; in the off-season it often becomes a concert and performance venue. Time it right and you can spend the day exploring Jamsil Station’s sights and end the night with a live game or show.
The complex is just one stop on Line 2 or a relaxed walk from Seokchon Lake, so it’s easy to stitch into your day depending on how much walking you want to do and what the weather’s like.
