On April 18, the YouTube channel 'Insaeng84' posted a video showing webtoon artist Kian84 on a prenatal trip to Kyoto with colleague Lee Si-eon and his wife.

The getaway was a heartfelt gesture: they traveled to pray for the safe delivery of Lee Si-eon's long-awaited baby and to help his pregnant sister-in-law, Seo Ji-seung, stay comfortable during her pregnancy.

Strolling through Kyoto's serene streets, Kian84 and his sister-in-law visited a string of peaceful spots, sharing quiet hopes for the little one on the way.

Their first stop was the so-called Rabbit Shrine, a place traditionally associated with easy births. In Japan, rabbits symbolize fertility and healthy deliveries, and the shrine was dotted with rabbit statues and charms.

Kian84 and Seo Ji-seung gently touched a pregnant rabbit figure and prayed for the safe arrival of the baby, nicknamed "Taegun." They even wrote a message—“Taegun, meet us safely and healthy”—on a small rabbit amulet and left it at the shrine as a loving wish.

When Seo Ji-seung admitted she was worried the baby's head measured larger than expected for the pregnancy weeks, Kian84 lightened the mood with a joke—“Big-headed babies are smart”—and shared that he, too, was a big, healthy baby, which got laughs and eased the tension.

The day continued with baby shopping. Watching his sister-in-law focus more on tiny outfits than on herself, Kian84 said he felt the unmistakable pull of parental love.

The baby store was full of charming character goods—from Japan’s beloved Anpanman to Hello Kitty and even Mickey Mouse—perfect for a newborn's first world of cuteness.

Although he felt a little bummed that coworkers like Dex had already gifted a stroller and car seat, Kian84 showed his uncle energy by personally picking out a lunchbox set and tiny forks the child can use later. He couldn’t stop cooing over the adorable baby socks and bibs.

For lunch, they savored obanzai, Kyoto’s understated, homey cuisine. Over a healthy plate of tofu hamburgers and seasonal vegetables, they dug into a candid conversation about the baby’s future and education.

Seo Ji-seung said she hoped the child could grow up without being chained to cram school, while also admitting the small ambitions every parent secretly holds. Kian84 was quietly attentive throughout, making sure his sister-in-law—who’s been feeling physically restricted by the pregnancy—felt comfortable and cared for.

In the afternoon, they skipped crowded tourist traps and relaxed in a quiet park. Sitting by the riverside with cherry blossoms drifting down, sharing ice cream and people-watching, they enjoyed the simple, essential moments that make a prenatal trip special.

Kian84 spread a mat on the grass so his sister-in-law could rest comfortably; they lay back together and soaked up the sunlight.

At the trip’s end, they were joined by Lee Si-eon and took a moment to check the countdown—about 50 days until the baby’s due date. Watching Kyoto’s sunset together, they all quietly wished once more for Taegun to arrive healthy and happy.
