'No(rang), Spring' Event Held
Employees Bring Families Along for a Shared Experience

SK케미칼 SK Chemicals(285130) partnered with Norang Balloon(104620) to offer a traditional urban spring outing for seniors ahead of Family Month in May.

SK Chemicals said on the 27th that, together with travel agency Norang Balloon Co., Ltd. and the Unjeong Comprehensive Social Welfare Center in Paju, it held the family volunteer event "No(rang), Spring" on the 25th in the Insadong and Jongno areas of Seoul, welcoming seniors and employees' families.

The event was organized using Norang Balloon's city tour program to support spring outings for seniors who live alone. Seniors and SK families toured downtown heritage sites and took part in hands-on activities together.

A total of 50 people participated, including families of SK affiliates and seniors who use the Unjeong Welfare Center. Activities included tteok (rice cake) making and museum visits, a city exploration using the Seoul city tour bus, and a visit to the Sarangchae at the Blue House.

Park Jeong-geun, an SK Chemicals manager who attended with his child, said, "The seniors described what Jongno and Insadong were like when they were young, and the kids really responded to those stories. It felt like the vague distance we sometimes feel between generations was softened."

Ko Jeong-seok, head of SK Chemicals' Management Support Division, commented, "As single-person households rise and the population ages, social isolation for seniors and gaps between generations are becoming social challenges. We will keep offering activities that let SK employees naturally engage with social issues and take part in solutions, while also strengthening collaboration with companies and other stakeholders."
