[Tour Korea = Reporter Nam Dong-rak] Yeongyang County announced on the 17th that it will host the 21st Yeongyang Wild Greens Festival from May 7–10 for four days.

The festival has become a signature spring event for the region, drawing more than 50,000 visitors from across the country each year.

This year’s theme—"A Spring Feast Served by Nature"—reimagines the celebration as a food-forward experience, blending local cuisine with hands-on workshops and storytelling.

Rather than being a simple eat-and-watch affair, the festival is shifting toward interactive programming where visitors can cook their own dishes and join immersive activities. Organizers expect this to encourage guests to stay longer and connect more deeply with the area.

Set amid largely mountainous, pristine terrain, Yeongyang is famed for its wild mountain greens—dureup, gomchwi and eoseuri—that grow around Ilwol Mountain and are prized for their rich aroma and excellent texture.

Evening performances and immersive nighttime programming will be expanded to create a round-the-clock festival vibe, helping to energize local businesses and the regional economy.

A Yeongyang County official said, "This year's festival was designed with hands-on experiences in mind. We hope many visitors will fully soak up the spirit of spring in Yeongyang."
