Daegu City and the tourism division of the Daegu Culture and Arts Foundation recently invited travel agencies on a fam trip to draw new domestic visitors from the Gyeongnam (South Gyeongsang) region.
The 1-night, 2-day itinerary was aimed at middle-aged and older travelers from Gyeongnam, a key market. It focused on short, easy day-trip options and hands-on experiences designed to showcase Daegu’s many charms.
Participants wandered Daegu’s well-preserved modern-era alleyways, then explored the Yakryeongsi Traditional Korean Medicine Museum—rooted in 400 years of history—and a nearby traditional medicine experience town. They also visited Nature Park, an interactive ecological zoo in Gachang, followed by stops at the Daegu Kansong Museum of Art and the Daegu Art Museum.
On day two, the group toured Dalseong County’s highlights: Dodong Seowon Confucian Academy, the Mabi Jeong Mural Village, the Samunjin ferry landing, and the Hwawon recreation area.
“This fam trip gave us a meaningful opportunity to collaborate with the Gyeongnam travel industry and explore ways to invigorate Daegu tourism,” said a tourism division official at the Culture and Arts Foundation. “We’ll keep developing diverse travel packages and hands-on experiences for visitors.”
