Daejeo Ferry Resumes Eldorado Express: Fastest Route to Ulleungdo in Just 2 Hours 50 Minutes!

As Ulleungdo’s peak travel season approaches, Daejeo Ferry will resume service of its high-speed passenger ship, the Eldorado Express, on April 10.

Daejeo Ferry said the Eldorado Express (3,158 t class · capacity 970 passengers · cargo 25 t) recently completed repairs and is undergoing final inspections at a Busan shipyard. The company plans to move the ship to Pohang on the 6th for final checks before it goes into full service.

The vessel is a wave-piercing, twin-hull, ultra-high-speed craft that can reach 95 km/h. It cuts the Pohang–Ulleung route to just 2 hours and 50 minutes, and Daejeo Ferry expects the quicker crossings to encourage longer stays and boost overnight tourism on Ulleungdo.

“With the Eldorado Express, we aim to offer faster and safer sea travel,” a Daejeo Ferry representative said.

To celebrate the relaunch, Daejeo Ferry will hold a seat-class upgrade event from April 10–30 and offer up to 30% off business and first-class fares through June 30.
