Daegu’s Dalseo District, led by District Head Lee Tae-hoon, announced on the 15th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with E-World to reinvigorate the local tourism industry and draw more visitors.

Built on public-private collaboration, the agreement focuses on expanding tourism infrastructure around the planned site for Daegu’s new city hall and Duryu Park. The partners aim to create a tourism special zone and pursue national park designation to boost regional tourism.

Under the MOU, the two organizations will collaborate across several areas: △ pursue designation of Duryu Park as a tourism special zone and national park △ plan and support joint events to develop tourism assets △ support tourism businesses and projects to attract visitors △ cooperate on promotion using existing publicity channels and networks △ share data, conduct joint research, and facilitate personnel exchanges to energize tourism.

Officials say the agreement will tie tourism development to the new city hall project and transform the Duryu Park area into an urban tourism hub that blends cultural, administrative, and visitor functions. They expect increased foot traffic, a boost for local businesses, and positive ripple effects throughout the regional economy.

Lee said, “We will work to expand tourism infrastructure linked to the new city hall and develop a variety of tourism content so Daegu can emerge as a leading tourism hub.”
