Haman County wrapped up the 4th Chilseo Ecological Park Green Barley & Peony Festival, held at Chilseo Ecological Park from May 8–10, organizers said.

The event brimmed with energy, thanks to enthusiastic participation from local residents and tourism groups.

Haman County’s Tourism Dure program and the Green Tour Council staffed promotional booths, showcasing the area’s unique attractions and hands-on experiences — offerings that proved hugely popular with visitors.

Visitors lingered longer thanks to stalls selling local agricultural specialties, pop-up food areas, live cultural performances, and Instagram-ready photo zones. Those programs not only extended stays but also gave a welcome boost to the local economy.

In particular, the "Flower Patch Sightseeing Train" carried roughly 60,000 passengers and earned high marks from families traveling with children and seniors.

Organizers put visitor comfort and safety first. Temporary parking was secured near the venue, extra safety personnel were deployed, and drones monitored traffic in real time to help manage vehicle flow.

Thanks to those measures, the festival ran smoothly and safely, even with large crowds, without major congestion or serious incidents.

A Haman County official said, “By prioritizing visitor convenience and safety this year, we made sure many guests could enjoy the festival safely and comfortably.” He added that they plan to keep developing the Chilseo Ecological Park Green Barley & Peony Festival into Haman’s signature spring tourism event.

The festival has seen rising attendance: about 60,000 visitors in 2024, 135,000 in 2025, and roughly 141,000 this year.

Those growing numbers have had a positive impact on the local economy and cultural scene, and organizers expect continued growth.
