[SPOTV News=Reporter Kim Won-gyeom] Singer Soyou arrives with a third EP that leans into deeper emotion and a wider musical palette.

Soyou will release Off Hours, her third EP, at 6 p.m. on the 29th and begin promotional activities. Ahead of the launch, her label, Magic Strawberry Sound, posted track previews on its official social channels to set the album’s tone and then released a teaser for the title track “Girl,” heightening fans’ anticipation.

The teaser presents Soyou in a bolder, more adventurous look. Elegant visual direction establishes a free, chic mood and deepens curiosity about the full music video. In one striking moment she hooks sunglasses on her jacket and radiates clear-screen charisma.

Off Hours centers on carving out time for oneself amid a hectic schedule. Soyou candidly explores the feelings and inner life she experiences as an individual, not only as a musician. The title track “Girl” is an indie-pop song built on tight, dry drums, bright synths and rhythmic guitar; Soyou co-wrote the lyrics, which lends the song’s message added authenticity.

A catchy chorus and repeating rhythmic motifs anchor the track, and the blunt line “I am not a cool girl” lays bare the uncertainty that comes from living inside society’s expectations—an honesty likely to resonate with listeners.

Since joining Magic Strawberry Sound in 2025, Soyou has solidified her musical identity with a distinctive, husky tone and subtle emotional nuance. She demonstrated an expanded range with the pre-release single “See-Through” and sustained momentum by contributing “Tonight,” the OST for ENA’s drama Scarecrow, which amplified her emotional delivery.

Returning with more candid storytelling and deeper feeling, Soyou is poised to expand her artistic territory with Off Hours and to forge a stronger connection with music fans.
