[MyDaily = Reporter Ji-woo Kim] Singer-songwriter Lee Jun-young, known professionally as LeeZu, has died at the age of 42.
The announcement came on the 4th via a post on social media by fellow composer Wang Jeong-hyun. He wrote, “My friend and the DJMAX composer we all loved, LeeZu, has embarked on a solitary journey,” and urged fans to remember LeeZu’s many songs and to pay their respects so he would not be alone on his way. He offered his deepest condolences.
Lee Jun-young worked under several aliases, including DEVA and P. Remi. Under the name P'sycho-Remi, he contributed tracks such as “The Guilty” and “Burn It Down” to the rhythm game DJ MAX TECHNIKA 2, and he expanded his musical palette with a guitar feature on “Love Is Beautiful.”
After his marriage, he left Seoul for rural life and shared his day-to-day activities on programs like “6 O'Clock My Hometown.” Following his 2023 divorce, he continued to balance creative work with documenting his life on YouTube.
On April 25, he uploaded a video titled “Goodbye” to his Bangrang Baeksu channel, leaving the message: “Thank you to everyone, and I’m sorry.”
