ENHYPEN member Heeseung has left the group.
On the 10th, Belift Lab posted an announcement about future activities on ENHYPEN’s official social media channels. According to the agency, Heeseung decided to depart because his artistic and musical direction no longer aligned with the group’s. ENHYPEN will continue promotions as a six-member group.
The agency said it was difficult to explain every detail in a brief statement, but emphasized that this decision was made after long and careful deliberation. They acknowledged that the news may be hard for some fans to accept, and asked for understanding, noting that the choice was made with both ENHYPEN’s and Heeseung’s futures in mind.
Belift Lab added that ENHYPEN will do their best to continue delivering the same strong performances and energy to ENGENE, and that Heeseung will return as a Belift Lab artist with a solo album. The agency asked fans to continue offering their unwavering support and warm encouragement as both ENHYPEN and Heeseung begin new challenges.
Heeseung also posted a handwritten letter on Weverse the same day. He wrote that he wanted to speak directly to ENGENE because he knows many fans would be curious about the sudden news. He described the past six years as an indescribably overwhelming and precious time, and said he still wants to be someone who supports ENHYPEN above all else.
Heeseung explained that he had shared the work he’s been doing with the company and spent a long time discussing how best to present it. After much consideration, he said he made the difficult decision to follow the direction proposed by the company so he could show ENGENE a better version of himself. Although he has many things he wants to share, he did not want to put his own ambitions ahead of the team, which contributed to his choice to pursue solo activities.
Heeseung affirmed that his intention to show a stronger version of himself is sincere. He expressed regret for the shock and worry this news may cause, thanked ENGENE for their endless love and support, and pledged to carry that love with him as he moves forward.
