[JoyNews24 reporter Im Mi-young] Coed rock band ChRocktikal is back with new music.
ChRocktikal will release their new digital single Nabi (奈祕) on online music platforms at 6 p.m. on the 23rd. It marks their first release in three months.
“Nabi” fuses the piercing lines of traditional instruments with contemporary rock textures. Siyeon’s taut, distinctive vocals and the tight interplay among the instruments create an arresting, singular mood.
With this single, ChRocktikal aims to vividly map emotions that creep up from deep inside and the arc of their transformation, delivering a clear, pointed message.
ChRocktikal consists of Siyeon, Lee Won-seok, Lee Jun-young, and Je Gwan-woo. Siyeon, formerly the main vocalist of girl group Dreamcatcher, serves as the band’s lead singer. Lee Won-seok is a producer and guitarist who has worked with Bolbbalgan4 and Ryeowook; Lee Jun-young is a bassist who previously played with the band AIZ. Drummer Je Gwan-woo first gained attention as a finalist on the survival show The Idol Band: Boys Battle.
The band’s name combines “chrome” (the metal), “rock” (the genre), and “kal” (a nod to sharpness), reflecting their pursuit of a bold, original musical identity.
They solidified their sound with their first full-length album, We Break, You Awake, released in January.
