[SPOTV News reporter Jung Hye-won] K-pop group Big Bang opened their 20th-anniversary project with a show-stopping appearance at Coachella and followed it with announcements of a new album and a world tour, signaling a full-scale return to group activity.

On April 12 and 19 (local time), Big Bang marked two milestone dates at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, delivering roughly an hour-long set. They performed hits such as \"Bang Bang Bang,\" \"We Like 2 Party,\" \"Fantastic Baby\" and \"Loser,\" underscoring their continued command of the stage.

At the end of the April 19 performance, the group surprised the audience with plans for their anniversary year. G-Dragon announced, \"We've finished preparing the new album,\" and said the group's 20th-anniversary world tour will begin this August, drawing enthusiastic cheers from fans.

Taeyang thanked fans directly: \"It's our 20th anniversary. Thank you for loving and supporting us for such a long time. We believe the only way to repay you is with good music and performances. We couldn't have come this far without you.\" Daesung also expressed gratitude, saying, \"Thank you for cherishing us and allowing us to sing for 20 years. We'll keep singing happily for a long time and bringing you happiness.\"

The upcoming release will be Big Bang's first new record in about four years, since April 2022's Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. No exact release date has been announced, but expectations are high given the group's history of global success with each album. This will be the first official Big Bang album released by the trio of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, which has heightened interest in the project's direction.

Big Bang will also stage their first concert in nine years since the 2017 Last Dance tour. Fans are eager to see what creative energy the members—each having pursued active solo careers—will produce when they reunite under the Big Bang name.

Since their debut, Big Bang has delivered countless hits and established themselves as defining figures in K-pop through distinctive music and strong performance skills. Two decades on, their reunion, new album and world tour have drawn attention across the global music industry.

Having launched their 20th-anniversary project at Coachella, observers will be watching closely to see what new chapter Big Bang writes this year.
