The Presidential Security Service ran a four-week commissioned training program for 10 protection officers from the United Arab Emirates Presidential Guard, from late last month through April 24.

On April 29, the Presidential Security Service said the course was conducted at its Security and Safety Training Center in Gangseo. The curriculum was tailored to meet UAE requirements and incorporated the Service’s advanced protective capabilities. The demand-driven program covered protection theory and basic skills in weeks one and two, followed by advanced protection drills and scenario-based response training in weeks three and four.

Since 2010, the Presidential Security Service and the UAE Presidential Guard have conducted 14 commissioned training programs, establishing a strong framework for cooperation. Overall, the Service’s Security and Safety Training Center has delivered 55 commissioned courses since 2006 to foreign protection agencies from countries including Uzbekistan, Cambodia, Qatar, Kuwait, Vietnam, Indonesia, Jordan, Russia and Mongolia.

A UAE Presidential Guard official thanked the Presidential Security Service for providing a high-quality program through systematic planning and professional execution, and said he expects cooperation between the two agencies to expand and deepen based on their accumulated partnership and exchanges of experience.

Hwang In-kwon, director of the Presidential Security Service, said the UAE is a key ally and a special strategic partner of South Korea, and he hopes the training will further strengthen bilateral security cooperation. He added that the Service will continue to build trust between nations through protection diplomacy and the sharing of world-class \"K-Protection\" practices.
