RNTX announced April 30, 2026, that its board appointed Hwang Seong-hwan as managing director. The company said the move is intended to centralize oversight of its defense business operations.
Hwang, born in 1961, previously led the Precision Guided Weapons Division at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) and served as a brigadier general in the Army. He also served as vice president of Saab Korea, where he oversaw business development efforts.
Under Article 10 of the Commercial Act, Hwang will be responsible for supervising RNTX’s defense project operations, the company said in its disclosure.
RNTX said the managing director will hold the legal authority and responsibilities for executing duties under Article 401 of the Commercial Act. The company clarified, however, that ultimate representative authority for defense projects remains with the current CEO.
The board set Hwang’s term from April 30, 2026, through May 28, 2026. RNTX designated its headquarters as his official workplace, where he will perform the assigned duties.
An auditor attended the board meeting. Hwang confirmed he will serve as the executive in charge of the Defense Industry Division and will oversee the company’s defense-related programs.
The company categorized the appointment as a material management decision for investors and said it will station the managing director at headquarters to ensure full compliance with the duties required under the Commercial Act.
