On the afternoon of the 15th, at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, evacuees returned from the Middle East aboard the Air Force KC-330 'Cygnus' multi-role transport and walked across the tarmac as tensions in the region escalated.
The Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of National Defense said the aircraft carried 211 people: 204 South Korean nationals, 5 family members with foreign citizenship, and 2 Japanese nationals. The military transport departed Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the afternoon of the 14th (local time) and arrived at Seoul Air Base on the afternoon of the 15th.
