On April 22, the 2nd Armored Brigade announced that its Yongho and Wild Horse battalions will carry out combined-arms, long-range maneuver training in the Paju and Yangju areas on April 28 and 29, respectively.
About 70 vehicles across roughly 20 vehicle types will participate, including tracked platforms such as K200A1 armored personnel carriers and K1A2 tanks, along with wheeled vehicles.
To reduce the risk of accidents, the brigade pre-inspected movement routes and will deploy safety controllers to anticipated congestion points — routes 1, 56, 360 and 371 on April 28, and routes 1, 37, 56, 360 and 371 on April 29 — to minimize disruption to local residents.
“We ask for local residents’ understanding and cooperation,” a brigade official said. “This exercise is intended to safeguard lives, property and national security. As the 1st Corps’ primary maneuver unit, we will employ realistic long-range maneuvers to sharpen wartime and peacetime readiness and maintain a strong military posture while doing our utmost to accomplish our assigned missions.”
